Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Human Resource & Industrial Relations (HR & IR) Manager to lead the HR and Industrial Relations function at our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Bommasandra, Bangalore. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing workforce relations, factory HR operations, statutory compliance, employee engagement, talent management, and industrial harmony.
The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, strong knowledge of labour laws, collective bargaining, industrial relations, and factory HR practices. The role requires close collaboration with management, production teams, and employees to build a productive, compliant, and positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resource Management
- Lead end-to-end HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, and employee retention.
- Develop and implement HR policies aligned with organizational goals.
- Manage employee compensation, benefits, payroll coordination, and workforce planning.
- Drive employee development initiatives through training and performance improvement programs.
Industrial Relations (IR)
- Act as the primary liaison between management and the workforce to maintain harmonious industrial relations.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and workplace disputes.
- Manage collective bargaining activities and support negotiations with employee unions.
- Interpret and administer employment contracts, labour agreements, and company policies.
Labour Law & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws, factory regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Monitor adherence to workplace safety standards, health regulations, and fair employment practices.
- Coordinate labour inspections, statutory audits, and compliance reporting.
- Maintain all statutory records and documentation related to HR and Industrial Relations.
Factory HR Operations
- Oversee HR activities on the manufacturing floor to ensure smooth workforce management.
- Coordinate closely with production, QA, QC, and operations teams for manpower planning.
- Support production strategy through effective workforce allocation and employee engagement.
- Ensure availability of skilled manpower to meet production requirements.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Monitor departmental performance, budgets, and operational efficiency.
- Foster a positive workplace culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support organizational change management initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources
- Master of Social Work (MSW)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience Required
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in Human Resources and Industrial Relations.
- 3–5 years of managerial experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong experience in factory HR, industrial relations, labour law compliance, and workforce management.
- Karnataka-based candidates with pharma industry experience will be given preference.
