Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Lead Hardware Engineering professional to manage and oversee hardware engineering activities for automation and control projects. The role involves handling hardware design processes, EPLAN project configuration, BOM generation, project coordination, and supporting installation and commissioning activities.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in EPLAN, industrial automation, electrical hardware design, and project management, along with the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and ensure timely project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Engineering & Automation
- Manage and monitor hardware engineering activities across automation projects
- Support Automation & Controls Head in verification of:
- Approved Project URS deviation lists
- Customer-approved P&ID
- Sales order scope and project timelines
- Change requests and CAPA activities
- Create and release customer P&ID drawings from master templates
EPLAN & BOM Management
- Configure project hardware designs using EPLAN P8
- Generate and manage:
- BOM (Bill of Materials)
- Sales Order BOM (SOB)
- Hardware schematics
- Coordinate integration between EPLAN, Teamcenter, and ERP systems
- Release updated EPLAN drawings and documentation
Project Execution & Coordination
- Coordinate with purchasing teams for BOM and material management
- Support retrofit and spare parts business for hardware and software lifecycle management
- Assist service teams during:
- Installation
- Commissioning
- Startup activities
- Support validation and QA processes for FS, I/O, and ITR documentation
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain and update:
- Hardware schematics
- IIOT tag lists
- Engineering templates and documents
- Ensure compliance with:
- ISO standards
- IEC / CE / UL standards
- Company engineering guidelines and processes
Tools & Technology
- Work on engineering tools and platforms including:
- EPLAN P8
- Teamcenter
- AutoCAD / DraftSight
- ERP systems
- Automation & IIOT platforms
Team Development
- Support knowledge sharing and technical training initiatives
- Guide team members on engineering standards and best practices
- Ensure effective team coordination and performance development
