Job Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Manager to oversee procurement operations and ensure timely availability of materials at optimal cost and quality. The role involves managing vendor relationships, purchase planning, inventory control, and leading the purchase team to achieve operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in procurement processes, vendor management, and supply chain coordination, along with the ability to optimize costs and improve purchasing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Negotiate pricing, credit terms, delivery timelines, and commercial agreements
  • Monitor vendor performance based on quality, service levels, and delivery timelines
  • Handle vendor escalations related to delays, shortages, and quality issues
  • Identify alternate sourcing options to reduce dependency and supply risks

Purchase Planning & Operations

  • Plan procurement based on demand forecasts and inventory requirements
  • Create, release, and track purchase orders (POs) for timely replenishment
  • Coordinate with vendors, warehouse, and logistics teams for smooth operations
  • Ensure proper 3-way matching (PO, invoice, GRN)
  • Control stock levels including stock-outs, excess inventory, and slow-moving items

Product Data & System Management

  • Ensure accurate product/SKU creation and master data management
  • Maintain correct data for cost price, tax codes, UOM, pack size, and vendor mapping
  • Validate price updates, schemes, and product catalogs
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy

Team Management & Process Improvement

  • Lead and supervise the purchase operations team
  • Assign responsibilities and monitor team performance
  • Train team members on procurement systems and vendor handling
  • Define and implement SOPs and internal controls
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes
