Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer with experience in pharmaceutical process machinery and cleanroom equipment design. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in conceptual design, equipment layout planning, GMP-compliant engineering, vendor coordination, and project documentation.
The role involves working closely with sales, project execution, purchase, utilities, electrical, and modular teams to deliver accurate engineering designs and ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Project Design & Engineering
- Receive project handover from the sales team and review all customer requirements.
- Study project BOQ, Purchase Orders, scope of work, and conduct site visits for requirement analysis.
- Develop design concepts and system layouts based on project processes and customer specifications.
- Ensure all designs comply with GMP guidelines and pharmaceutical industry standards.
- Review General Arrangement (GA) drawings received from factories and vendors before client submission.
Drawing Review & Approval
- Coordinate with draughtsmen for preparation of engineering drawings.
- Review and verify drawings for technical accuracy before submission.
- Submit drawings to clients and consultants for approval.
- Follow up with clients and consultants to obtain timely drawing approvals.
- Approve finalized GA drawings for vendor manufacturing and execution activities.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with:
- Electrical teams
- Utility teams

- Ensure seamless integration of design requirements across departments.
- Support project planning and execution through technical coordination.
Procurement & Vendor Support
- Prepare detailed checklists based on approved drawings.
- Generate purchase indents through ERP systems.
- Coordinate with the purchase department regarding technical specifications.
- Assist procurement teams in vendor evaluation and technical negotiations.
- Review BOQ comparisons and recommend required amendments.
Documentation & Validation
- Prepare and submit:
- DQ (Design Qualification)
- IQ (Installation Qualification)
- OQ (Operational Qualification)
- PQ (Performance Qualification)
- Ensure all approved drawings and project documentation are maintained accurately.
- Support project validation and compliance requirements.
Project Handover & Reporting
- Handover finalized BOQs, purchase orders, approved drawings, and design documents to project execution teams.
- Participate in daily flow meetings and weekly planning activities.
- Update project status and work progress through ERP/Aspire systems.
- Ensure timely completion of design deliverables.
