Job Overview

We are looking for a highly driven Project Manager cum Commercial Lead to manage commercial operations, project costing, pre-sales activities, vendor management, and project execution support for pharma machinery and integrated pharmaceutical projects.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role that combines commercial excellence with project delivery management. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in project costing, quotation management, contract review, vendor management, techno-commercial proposals, and cross-functional project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Project Costing

  • Develop detailed project costing models covering:
    • Materials
    • Upstream and downstream processing
    • Operational overheads
    • Regulatory cost components
  • Prepare project cost estimates for:
    • Greenfield installations
    • Brownfield expansion projects
    • Technology transfer initiatives
  • Conduct:
    • Cost benchmarking
    • Margin analysis
    • Sensitivity analysis
  • Maintain and optimize costing models based on market and vendor inputs

Commercial Proposal & Quotation Management

  • Own end-to-end preparation of:
    • Commercial proposals
    • Client quotations
    • Techno-commercial documents
  • Ensure quotations align with:
    • Scope requirements
    • Commercial terms
    • Delivery timelines
    • Margin expectations
  • Coordinate with:
    • Technical teams
    • Operations teams
    • Finance teams
      for accurate costing and proposal validation

Legal Agreement & Contract Review

  • Review:
    • NDAs
    • MSAs
    • Service agreements
    • Commercial contracts
  • Identify commercial risks and provide recommendations during contract negotiations
  • Coordinate with leadership and legal teams for agreement finalization
  • Maintain trackers for:
    • Active agreements
    • Renewals
    • Commercial obligations

Vendor Identification & Management

  • Identify and onboard vendors for:
    • Raw materials
    • Consumables
    • Packaging materials
    • Project subcontracting requirements
  • Maintain approved vendor panels and pricing benchmarks
  • Negotiate commercial terms to optimize project cost and quality outcomes
  • Coordinate vendor deliverables for timely project execution

Pre-Sales & Business Development Support

  • Support business development teams with:
    • Commercial inputs
    • Proposal presentations
    • ROI analysis
    • Techno-commercial summaries
  • Maintain repositories for:
    • Quotations
    • Costing templates
    • Commercial collateral
    • Case studies
  • Track pre-sales pipeline and project opportunity status

Project Management & Coordination

  • Manage commercial project execution for active client engagements
  • Track:
    • Milestones
    • Deliverables
    • Costs
    • Risks
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with:
    • R&D
    • Procurement
    • Regulatory
    • Operations teams
  • Handle client communication regarding:
    • Scope changes
    • Timelines
    • Commercial impact

Required Skills & Qualifications

Educational Qualification

  • B.Tech in Engineering (Mandatory)
  • MBA and/or PMP Certification preferred
  • Candidates with both MBA and PMP certification will be prioritized

Experience Requirements

  • 5 – 10 years of experience in:
    • Pre-sales
    • Commercial operations
    • Project management
    • Project costing
  • Preferred industry background:
    • Pharma machinery
    • Industrial machinery
    • Contract manufacturing
    • Engineering projects

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong expertise in:
    • Financial modelling
    • Costing analysis
    • Commercial negotiations
    • Proposal management
  • Proficiency in:
    • MS Excel
    • Project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.)
  • Ability to review legal and commercial documents from a business perspective
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities
